Who Is Barbara?
Barbara Beggs is an executive coach that works with business people who are successful and want to do even more, are driven yet crave more balance in their lives, want to develop their ability to work with others or want to improve their satisfaction with their chosen career path.
She coaches directors of sales, marketing and operations as well as business owners and focuses on leadership skills, performance, strategic planning, change management and working with teams.
Clients value her as an inspired collaborator with a strategic and pragmatic approach to change that helps them quickly realize results.
A gifted trainer, she conducts highly interactive and effective classes and workshops in Sales, Customer Service, Team Building and Leadership.
In addition to coaching, Barbara is known across North Texas for her team building program, "Cooking Up Collaboration” where participants prepare a gourmet meal in teams, learning positive team behaviors and an appreciation for process. Working under stress, doing tasks some find challenging and unfamiliar, team members demonstrate their leadership while gaining insight into their ability to plan, communicate, cooperate, delegate, perform new tasks, deal with interruption and manage a schedule. Much of Barbara's career has been spent in manufacturing where technology and international pressure combined to bring about major upheaval and with it a mandate for adaptation and change. As Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Meisel, Barbara led the effort to re-brand and re-engineer the company, now a leader in digital imaging. In the process, she earned the business of major corporations, retailers, ad agencies and design firms. During her tenure, Meisel was named to the Dallas 100 by the Cox School of Business.
Prior to that, her career was spent at US Steel Corporation, where she managed over $100 million in revenues, working with manufacturers across the southwestern US to build a wide variety of products including railroad cars, bridges, air conditioners and metal buildings. Her clients included Trinity Industries, Mosher Steel, Trane Air Conditioning, Overhead Door and many others.
Barbara graduated with a BA from the University of Pittsburgh, with double majors in English and Communications and is an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with the International Coaching Federation. Barbara holds a certificate from the University of Texas at Dallas School of Management's Executive and Professional Coaching program. She is a certified trainer in DiSC ® and the Team Dimensions Profile.
Barbara is a member of the International Coaching Federation, North Texas Chapter and serves on its board as well as a member of the American Society for Training and Development in Dallas.
She has served as a board member for the YWCA of the USA; United Way of Pittsburgh; Dallas Shared Housing and currently serves as a board member for the Northwest Arlington ESL Center, where she is a volunteer teacher of English as a Second Language to adults. She is also a member of the American Institute of Wine and Food and a Dallas Farmers Market Friend.
